Kids Martial Arts Program

Welcome to the Kids Program at Adams’ MMA — where children learn confidence, discipline, respect, focus, self-defense, and leadership in a positive and structured environment.

This program is designed specifically for ages 8–13 and helps students grow both physically and mentally through martial arts and what we call: 🔥 “Mental Martial Arts” 🔥

At Adams’ MMA, we believe martial arts training should help children become stronger in every area of life — not just on the mat.

Our classes help students:

Build confidence

Improve focus and discipline

Develop respect and self-control

Increase athletic ability and coordination

Learn real-world self-defense

Improve fitness and flexibility

Learn leadership and teamwork

Build mental toughness

Develop anti-bullying awareness

This is about much more than punches and kicks.

It is about helping young people become stronger, more confident, and better prepared for life.

Real Martial Arts For The Real World

At Adams’ MMA, we teach “Street Realistic Self-Defense.”

Students learn practical martial arts skills through a blend of:

🥋 Kajukenbo

🥋 Karate

🥋 Aiki-Jujitsu

🥋 Grappling

🥋 Self-Defense

🥋 Movement & Coordination Training

We teach children how to:

Stay calm under pressure

Protect themselves

Use awareness and confidence to avoid problems

Build discipline and control

Respect others while standing up for themselves

Our goal is not to create bullies.

Our goal is to create strong, respectful, disciplined young leaders.

More Than A Martial Arts School

We are building more than fighters…

We are building confidence, discipline, and character.

In today’s world, many children struggle with:

❌ Too much screen time

❌ Lack of confidence

❌ Poor focus

❌ Low physical activity

❌ Anxiety and stress

❌ Bullying

Martial arts gives children a positive outlet while helping them become mentally and physically stronger.

Students are encouraged to support each other, work hard, stay disciplined, and keep improving.

Because at Adams’ MMA, our philosophy is simple: Consistent Discipline Wins.

Learn From Experience

Classes are taught by Brian Adams, who has over 40 years of martial arts experience and holds advanced black belt rankings in multiple martial arts systems.

Brian combines traditional martial arts values with practical self-defense, movement training, confidence building, and leadership development.

Students learn in a structured, family-friendly environment where effort, attitude, and consistency matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes Adams’ MMA different from a sport MMA gym?

Most gyms train for the ring or a cage with referees and rules. We focus on street-realistic self-defense. Our training is based on over 40 years of experience in Kajukenbo, Aiki-Jujitsu, and real-world tactical awareness. We don't train for trophies; we train for survival.

2. Is Kajukenbo good for beginners?

Yes. Kajukenbo was designed in Hawaii specifically for self-defense. It combines Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kenpo, and Boxing. At Adams’ MMA, we break these techniques down into manageable steps so anyone, regardless of fitness level, can start safely.

3. What age should my child start martial arts?

We typically recommend starting around age 5 or 6. Our Kids Anti-Bully Training focuses on "verbal judo," confidence, and the physical skills needed to stay safe without being the aggressor.

4. Do I need to be in shape to start Tai Chi?

Not at all. Our Tai Chi classes in Surfside Beach are designed for health, balance, and longevity. It is low-impact and perfect for seniors or anyone recovering from injury who wants to improve their mobility and mental focus.

5. Where is your new dojo located?

We are officially open at 1772 Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach,SC. We serve the entire Grand Strand, including Myrtle Beach, Socastee, and Murrells Inlet.
