Teens & Adults Martial Arts Program

Welcome to the Teens & Adults Program at Adams’ MMA — where we teach real-world self-defense, confidence, discipline, fitness, and mental toughness in a positive, family-friendly environment.

This is not cardio kickboxing.

This is not point fighting.

And this is definitely not “dojo aerobics.”

At Adams’ MMA, we teach: 🔥 Street Realistic Self-Defense 🔥

Our program is designed to help teens and adults become stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally while learning practical martial arts skills that work in the real world.

Whether your goal is:

Self-defense

Confidence

Fitness

Weight loss

Stress relief

Better mobility and conditioning

Learning martial arts

Personal growth

Becoming mentally tougher

Our program meets you where you are.

Beginners are always welcome.

More Than Just Fighting

Martial arts should improve every part of your life — not just teach you how to punch and kick.

At Adams’ MMA, we focus heavily on:

🔥 Confidence

🔥 Discipline

🔥 Awareness

🔥 Leadership

🔥 Emotional control

🔥 Stress management

🔥 Mental toughness

🔥 Positive habits

🔥 Consistent self-improvement

We call this: 🔥 “Mental Martial Arts” 🔥

Training the body and mind together.

Because the biggest opponent most people face… is themselves.

Learn From Experience

Classes are taught by Brian Adams, who has over 40 years of martial arts experience and holds advanced black belt rankings in multiple martial arts systems.

Brian combines traditional martial arts values with practical self-defense, movement training, discipline, leadership development, and real-world experience.

His philosophy is simple: Consistent Discipline Wins.

Family-Friendly Environment

At Adams’ MMA, we are building more than a martial arts school…

We are building a community.

Our goal is to create a positive training environment where students encourage each other, work hard, grow together, and become stronger both on and off the mat.

No egos.

No intimidation.

Just hard work, growth, respect, and improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes Adams’ MMA different from a sport MMA gym?

Most gyms train for the ring or a cage with referees and rules. We focus on street-realistic self-defense. Our training is based on over 40 years of experience in Kajukenbo, Aiki-Jujitsu, and real-world tactical awareness. We don't train for trophies; we train for survival.

2. Is Kajukenbo good for beginners?

Yes. Kajukenbo was designed in Hawaii specifically for self-defense. It combines Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kenpo, and Boxing. At Adams’ MMA, we break these techniques down into manageable steps so anyone, regardless of fitness level, can start safely.

3. What age should my child start martial arts?

We typically recommend starting around age 5 or 6. Our Kids Anti-Bully Training focuses on "verbal judo," confidence, and the physical skills needed to stay safe without being the aggressor.

4. Do I need to be in shape to start Tai Chi?

Not at all. Our Tai Chi classes in Surfside Beach are designed for health, balance, and longevity. It is low-impact and perfect for seniors or anyone recovering from injury who wants to improve their mobility and mental focus.

5. Where is your new dojo located?

We are officially open at 1772 Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach,SC. We serve the entire Grand Strand, including Myrtle Beach, Socastee, and Murrells Inlet.
